Daneau Joins Team of “Free Ride”

We are pleased to see our very own Danny Daneau joining the crew as the editor of upcoming indie feature FREE RIDE, starring Anna Paquin and Cam Gigandet and directed by Shana Sosin. The film is about, “A single mom caught up in the Florida drug trade during the late 1970s who tries to make a better life for her two girls” (from IMDB). Although still pursuing a career as a writer-director, Danny is thrilled to be rising up the ranks as a film editor.

“I fell in love with the job when co-editing THE ATTIC DOOR with Sean LaGrange. It was there that I realized how much the movie is really made in the editing room. Since then, I have been blessed to work with extremely talented filmmakers and continue learning more about the craft on every project I do.”

We look forward to hearing more about Free Ride and are happy for Danny’s success.

Congrats to director Danny Daneau who is featured in the most recent issue of CinemaEditor Magazine. The article is called A TALE OF TWO FILMS and it chronicles the editors behind two films at SXSW 2011. The first film is “Source Code”, edited by the legendary Paul Hirsch (Star Wars: A New Hope, Steel Magnolias, Mission Impossible). The second film is “Fly Away” edited by our very own Danny Daneau.

Help us Reach 500 Orders

Danny Daneau

Dear Loyal & Wonderful Friends of THE ATTIC DOOR,

Hello. How are you? It has been a long time since we’ve shared anything, but trust me, we’ve been pushing like crazy to get something ready to share. Now…finally, we are ready.

The Attic Door Shop is now open for business and we are kicking things off with a pre-sale of our DVD, Blu-Ray, Digital Copy, or all of the above in our Patron Package. This is where we need your help. We are trying to hit 500 orders before our release date to prove to our other retailers the demand for the film to be seen. The release date isn’t until July 26th, but please buy now. The sooner we can hit our mark, the more likely other retailers will buy from us. After purchasing, please tell your friends on
and twitter.

Thank you everyone for being there through it all. We are so happy to be able to finally share our work with you.

Danny Daneau at SXSW

Exciting news! Our director, Danny Daneau, was invited to the 2011 SXSW Film Festival for a feature he edited selected for the narrative competition. The film FLY AWAY is about a single mother struggling to raise her teenaged autistic daughter who is kicked out of school for her violent outburst and spiraling out of control. The film was received with much praise, but even more exciting… New Video plans to give the film a limited theatrical run through its Flatiron Film Co. on April 26, with a focus on digital, cable VOD and DVD distribution. ~ Indiewire

Congrats, Danny! Check out the trailer below.
