Editing Update

Erica Harrell
Producer

Sorry for the lapse in blog postings everyone. I have been in Orlando since December 16th working very close with Danny on the editing of A Monster in the Attic. On the 19th we traveled to Sarasota, Florida to work with advisor Randy Finch who gave us great feedback on our progress. Since then, Danny has locked himself away with the footage during the holidays while staying with his parents in SW Florida.

Stay tuned this week for some VERY EXCITING NEWS!!!!

Happy Holidays!

The fine folks over at the Salt Lake Tribune have again honored our film by including it in an article about the busy fall filming schedule in the state, and the projects that were shot in Utah this year.

Many thanks to columnists Mark Havnes and Vince Horiuchi for keeping us in the news!

The article is also reposted after the jump, preserved for antiquity.

Director’s DGA to Begin Talks with Studio Producers

Danny Daneau
Director

New York Times reported today that the Directors Guild of America will begin talks after the New Year Holiday concerning their contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. To avoid striking at all cost, the guild is preparing everything they have now before their contract expires on June 30th. The DGA will most definitely be seeking the same type of internet / digital rights the WGA is currently striking towards.

Fresh Squeezed Florida Talent

Erica Harrell

My daily dose of IndieWire informed me that the 16th Annual Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase entertained Indie Film supporters in Orlando this weekend and these enthusiasts chose some of their favorite films for “The Best of Brouhaha”. Brouhaha showcases Florida Film talent and this year featured Danny Daneau’s music video “Dirty Jeans”. This music video features Danny’s talents as well as the amazing Florida band, The Heathens. Danny’s music video was chosen for the “Best of Brouhaha–Emerging Florida Filmmakers” sidebar in the upcoming 2008 Florida Film Festival (March 28 – April 6).

Hooray! Read Matthew Curtis’ Indiewire Blog here.

Strike Talks Break Down; Hollywood in Greater State of Shock than Usual

Eric Ernst
Writer

Bleak news from Hollywoodland – the AMPTP and the WGA formally broke off negotiations last week, leaving the current and coming television seasons in a state of disarray. As many shows air the last of their completed episodes, their futures are in limbo as everyone waits anxiously for the talks to resume. New statements were released by both sides, and are decidely harsher and more personal, with the AMPTP chiding the WGA management for staging “mock exorcisms” and the WGA criticizing their opponents for jumping the gun and blaming them as quickly as possible.

With the holidays on the way, talks continuing before the end of the year are unlikely. Rumors abound of another month before the negotiations resume and a drastically reduced Pilot Season ’08, and the possibility of resuming the current season in the fall.

Fun stuff, huh? The latest he said/she said after the jump:
