Roger Moore Film Critic Blogs about Monster

Danny Daneau
Director

Check it out.

Moore focuses on how well Utah accommodated young Florida filmmakers and suggest Florida film commissions use the same model. I am very close with all the people who work with the Florida film commission and they’ve bent over backwards to allow me to make films in this state. When they heard about what Utah offered me they said they would like my help in creating a similar program for Orlando. Who knows, this might become a national model.

Sundance Forum Invitation

Danny Daneau
Director

Come one, come all. If you are in Park City this week, drop us a line. Come see our panel and watch exclusive footage from the film premiering for the first time.

Below is the formal invitation we’ll be passing around town. It was created by Drew Blatman of designgroop(.com). Drew has been a giant help with the graphic design of our film. He also happens to be one of the most talented filmmakers I know. One of my favorites is Mr. Malikai Battles the Aeroplane which you can watch here.

Days before the Dance

Erica Harrell
Producer

With our trip to Sundance less than one week away, our days have been hectic. Danny has been working super hard on our three minute presentation for our panel and the process has not been easy. Danny and I will be in Park City from January 17-24 so if any of you are attending the festival or are in Park City, Please contact us so we can get together.

I have been in Florida for almost a month now and I am super happy to report it has been a wonderful visit. The unfortunate writers strike has given me time to devote to both of my films, A Monster in the Attic and Baker, but I hope for a immediate end so the thousands who have been affected can return to their jobs.

More news to follow!

Monster at Sundance!!

Sundance 2008

We are very excited to announce that A Monster in the Attic has been invited to present at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival where we will showcase a portion of our film for the first time! Marshall Moore, Utah Film Commissioner, and Ted Hallisey, Kane County Film Comissioner, will be moderating a panel featuring our film and the experience of shooting in Utah. We will be attending the festival from January 16-24, with our panel being held on January 22 from 11-12am at the Yarrow in Park City.

This is a rare opportunity for a film this early in it’s editing process to be able to showcase at such a prestigious event. Being able to bring this small portion of our film back to Utah is a great honor for us.

Stay tuned to the blog for live updates from the festival.

Strike Monster Claims Another Victim But Tom Cruise Deals It A Good, Hard Blow

The Great Writer’s Strike of 2007/08/? claimed its latest victim as the Beast devoured the telecast of the Golden Globe Awards. The always mysterious Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced today that, due to members of SAG not crossing picket lines and no pre-written material for them to read off of a TV, the award winners would be announced during an hour-long press conference airing on NBC this Sunday at 9pm EST/6pm PST. While viewers will be spared the usual yawn-inducing praisefest, one can’t help but lament that we will not be able to see Sacha Baron Cohen (aka Borat) present the Best Actor – Comedy, Musical or Whatever award to Tom Hanks, nor the death glare from John C. Reilly that is sure to follow his snub.

In other strike news, hot off of David Letterman’s victory against the Strike Monster, Tom Cruise has thrust his sabre deep into the beast’s hide, as his United Artists company has come to an agreement with the Writer’s Guild, allowing UA to move forward on re-writes and projects they have in development. UA is the first major company to do so and could completely change the way that labor negotiations are done in Hollywood, if other companies follow suit, the AMPTP could be crippled. More to come…
