The Attic Door

One of the most neato things about shooting in Kane County was the rich history that it has with the movies. Dozens of films and television shows were film in and around the area, from Sergeants Three starring the Rat Pack, to Maverick starring…Mel Gibson.

One of the most famous of the films shot in the area is The Outlaw Josey Wales, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood. We recently had the pleasure of being able to watch this film at the Crescent Moon Theatre in Kanab, and take in the surreality of seeing another film shot in beautiful downtown Paria, right where we built our set and shot all of our exteriors.

What is really interesting about this is the fact that the beautiful lean-to that the art department constructed for our cow was made of wood from the set of The Outlaw Josey Wales, which was the last film to be shot in Paria before A Monster in the Attic, some 30 plus years later.
